Stacey Gray Akyea has been Director of School and Program Improvement since March 2008.

From 2005-0228 Gray Akyea served as a program evaluator and data coach for SPPS and worked at helping schools make use of data and data drive decision processes. She also worked on an evaluation team which evaluated large district initiatives such as the Project for Academic Excellence. Prior professional experience includes teaching, research and administration at Indiana University Northwest, planning and evaluation consulting, and an administrative position as the Supervisor of Evaluation for Gary Community School Corporation in Gary Indiana.

Gray Akyea holds a B.A. in English and Theatre Arts, a M.A.T in English Education, and a Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education, all from the University of Iowa.
