WELCOME...to the School & Program Improvement (SPI) Website!
The School & Program Improvement (SPI) Department was established in 1999 to support the continuous improvement of all schools within the Saint Paul Public School (SPPS) District by:
- conducting School and Program Audits to identify instructional strengths and challenges and characterize our schools' potential to deliver optimal learning experiences and our programs' potential to support schools in delivering optimal learning experiences.
- providing the framework for and supporting SPPS schools and programs as they develop their School Comprehensive Improvement Plan (SCIP)each year
In addition, the School and Program Improvement Department also:
- conducts Charter School Quality Reviews of those charter schools sponsored by the SPPS District
- organizes the coordination of multi-departmental support services provided to schools identified as not making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in connection with the No Child Left Behind legislation
- conducted School Quality Reviews of Saint Paul schools from 1999-2007.
